Description
HKM Lambswool Short Girth, model nr: 13337
Colours: Black/black, Black/natural
Sizes: 50 to 75cm
Please note: girths are measured from buckle end to buckle end. The measurement does not include any part of the girth that extends beyond the buckles.
The true shape of this girth is shown in the image of the Black/black colourway. The Black/natural image is not the same model but is all HKM provides at this time.
The HKM Lambswool Short Girth is a really nice, well-designed anatomical short/dressage girth with a fully removable real medical lambskin lining. The girth itself is polycotton and because the hook side of the hook and loop fastenings is on the lining, you can actually use the girth without the lambskin if you wish to. The shape of the girth gives a lot of room for the elbows and even with the luxurious lambskin in place, is not particularly bulky.
We especially like the fact that the liner absolutely doesn’t move or slide around, even though it’s removable. The girth has a useful D ring for training aid/martingale attachment at the front edge. The stainless steel buckles are very sturdy, with seam-free rollers.
Measurement guide for the girth’s dimensions:
Widest point at centre: 14cm; Narrowest point at elbows: 8cm; Width at ends: 11cm. The girth extends approximately 8cm beyond the buckle ends.
Lambskin washes very well, just use a lambskin/wool/leather wash liquid and a cool wash and then air dry. HKM say you can tumble dry the liner on a cold setting, too. As this is a real sheepskin girth, it is not elasticated. Sheepskin is very plush, soft and yields to pressure for cushioning, so elastic is not required or desirable as it would cause the girth to slip. Real lambskin is highly breathable, naturally anti-bacterial, doesn’t rub and is suitable for sensitive skinned horses.
