The ‘Comfort Roller’ spurs feature an extra-large, totally smooth, solid brass wheel-type rowel. The roller is much thicker than conventional smooth rowels, giving a broader area of contact which is less likely to provoke a ‘ticklish’ response and is more comfortable for the horse.

Formerly only available with the roller in a horizontal position, this new model sees the roller in the vertical plane, which gives a slightly slower contact and reduces the possibility of accidental contact. This is helpful for horses that are more sensitive to the spurs and also for riders who find themselves using the spurs unintentionally at times.

As with the original Comfort roller spurs, this one has the same large brass roller which is a full 18mm in diameter and twice the thickness of a standard wheel. This gives double the area of contact but with a softer action than a standard wheel which is excellent for sensitive horses that overreact to spurs.

Overall, with the roller in the vertical position, this new model is a perfect choice for horses that find the horizontal version just a little too ‘sharp’.
