The Sprenger KK Ultra Baucher Bit has an ergonomically designed mouthpiece, shaped like the horse’s tongue therefore taking up less room in the mouth without interfering with the palate. Designed to encourage horses to work in an outline, gentle pressure is directed on the poll by attaching the rein onto the lower ring and the cheekpiece onto the upper, smaller one.

The mouthpiece promotes a high level of responsiveness by an optimum contact resulting in relaxation and submissiveness. The middle link also known as the bean or lozenge is shortened and angled forward by 45 degrees. This unique angle is the only way to get a true contact to the tongue, therefore when a contact is taken the mouthpiece rolls smoothly over the horse’s tongue and stimulates it in a gentle but effective way. Clearly defined aids can therefore be given through the reins without squeezing or pinching the tongue.

The KK Ultra Baucher (also known as a ‘hanging cheek snaffle’) has a steadying effect on the contact, helping the rider to keep the connection to the bit and to achieve a steadier head-carriage with a more consistent contact.

An ideal choice for horses that have an inconsistent head carriage, including those that are inattentive and lack concentration, plus horses that are fussy in the mouth but don’t like single-jointed snaffles so need to be ridden in a bit with a lozenge. The Baucher construction keeps the bit central, balanced, and steady in the mouth, with a very even contact to the tongue which can improve the confidence of horses that are shy of the contact.

The mouthpiece is made from SENSOGAN, a patented bit material for a sensitive connection to the horse. The innovative mix of materials including the micronutrient manganese and a reduced copper content increases the horses chewing activity and salivation in a targeted manner. Sensogan achieves optimal concentration, calmness and relaxation with horses being much more willing to perform. Sensogan bits are particularly suitable for sensitive horses, they are also toxicologically tested, have high compatibility and are exceptionally well tolerated and easy to clean. All Sensogan bits are marked with directional arrows at the cheeks.
